Here are 2 more responses from candidates running for Regional Council October 26, 2026. The questions asked of the candidates were –
Question 1:
I am a team player and believe that I have brought that attitude and approach to Regional Council. I don't think it is helpful for individual voices to carry the day or debate in ending up with good decisions, and consequently I think I am fairly effective in trying to bring people together for the final decision that is best for everyone.
One of my two priorities listed in my campaign literature states "being a voice for those who are often forgotten," and "creating an environment where all feel welcome and know they belong." I have tried to be a voice for those who are often not present to lobby at meetings or have the confidence to connect one on one.
Question 2:
When I ran for Waterloo City Council in 1980 and when running for Regional Council in 2016, both times I was encouraged by numerous community leaders, those who were current members of the respective councils and my family.
